Public representatives need to be aware of the problems facing animals in Ireland. We can alert them through lobbying. (Lobbying is simply influencing policy makers in favour of a specific cause, in this case animal welfare.)

We lobby our politicians by writing letters, emailing or meeting with them at their clinics. Public representatives must acknowledge any written communication. They must also respond to it.
By lobbying your local TD, senator, MP or councillor, you are highlighting animal welfare as an issue of public concern.

To make lobbying easier, template letters are available. You can use them in their entirety or as a starting point for your own letter. Do not be put off by the standard replies. Keep writing until your concerns and the issues you have raised have been properly addressed.

You can find out the name and contact details of your local TDs, MLAs, MEPs, senators and councils below.
